Blue Mound is a small incorporated city in Tarrant County north of Fort Worth, in the flat terrain of north Tarrant County. The community is in the suburban-rural fringe of the northern Metroplex, where the North Texas prairie transitions toward the Cross Timbers of the Cross Timbers zone west of the Blackland Prairie.
