Golf in Lost Pines

1 golf course in Lost Pines, Texas.

Lost Pines is a community in Bastrop County near the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort, in the geologically distinctive Lost Pines area east of Austin. The loblolly pine forest here is geographically isolated from the main East Texas pine belt by more than 100 miles, representing a relict forest that survived as a disconnected stand on the sandy soils of the Colorado River valley in Bastrop County. The Lost Pines terrain along the Colorado River has sandy soil in contrast to the clay soils typical of the surrounding central Texas landscape. Bastrop State Park within the Lost Pines was heavily damaged in the 2011 wildfires but has been undergoing restoration. The resort and golf complex draw visitors from the Austin area, and the community is approximately 30 miles southeast of downtown Austin. One course serves this resort community in the pine forest terrain of the Lost Pines.
