Banyan Golf Course

Banyan Golf Course is a golf facility in Wainaku, a community in the greater Hilo area on the eastern coast of the Big Island, serving the residential community in the corridor between downtown Hilo and the Hamakua Coast to the north. The course takes its name from the banyan trees that characterize the lush vegetation of the wet eastern Big Island, where the combination of abundant rainfall, the Hamakua plantation history, and the proximity to Hilo create a landscape of tropical richness that differs markedly from the dry, volcanic resort environment of the western Kohala Coast. The facility serves the Hilo area residential community as a complement to the city-operated Hilo Municipal Golf Course.
