How Par 5 makes money
Short version: some booking links pay us, it costs you nothing, and it never changes what a course page says.
The short version
What an affiliate link is here
Par 5 is free to use and carries no display advertising. Some of the links that take you off the site to book a round are affiliate links. If you book through one, the booking service pays us a small commission. You pay exactly what you would have paid going there directly.
Where they appear
On course pages, not in the data
Affiliate links appear only where a page offers you an action: booking a tee time at a course that takes public bookings. They never appear inside the course data itself, and a course is never listed, delisted, promoted, or ranked because of a commercial relationship.
Independence
Commission never buys a word
Course listings are built from open data and verified sources, and our rankings use published, checkable numbers. No advertiser, booking service, course, or affiliate network has any input into what a page says, which courses appear in a ranking, or where a course places in one. If a course that pays us nothing is the better course, it still wins the ranking. If a fact is unflattering and sourced, it still ships.
Your part
Nothing changes for you
You are never charged more, never required to use a booking link, and never tracked by us across the sites you visit after you leave. Every course page also gives you the course's own contact details where we have them, so you can always book direct.
