Plain-English terms
What you agree to by using Par 5, and what we do and do not promise. Effective September 14, 2026.
Using the site
Agreement
Using par-5.com or the Par 5 iOS app means you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use them. We may update these terms, and the effective date above changes when we do.
Accuracy
What the directory promises, and what it cannot
Par 5 is a directory assembled from open data and published sources. We work hard at being right, and we leave a field blank rather than show a value no source printed. Even so, courses close, change hands, change their hole counts and their booking policies, and data goes stale. Nothing on Par 5 is a guarantee that a course is open, that it will take your booking, or that any detail on its page is current. Call ahead. If you spot something wrong, tell us through the feedback form.
Accounts
Your account and your content
You are responsible for your account and for what you post through it. Reviews, ratings, photos, and course facts you contribute are yours, and by posting them you give us permission to display them on Par 5 and in the Par 5 app. We can remove content that is abusive, false, infringing, off-topic, or posted to manipulate a rating, and we can close an account that keeps doing it. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings, and your reviews, ratings, and photos go with it. Two things stay, with your name taken off them: problem reports you sent us through the feedback form, and course facts you proposed, because other golfers may have vouched for them. Our privacy policy says exactly what is deleted and what is kept.
Fair use
What you may not do
Do not scrape or bulk-copy the site, do not use it to build a competing dataset by automated collection, do not attempt to break or overload it, and do not impersonate anyone. Normal human use, linking to us, and quoting a page with credit are all fine and welcome.
Data
Licensing and attribution
Course listings derive from OpenStreetMap, made available under the Open Database License, and from the other sources credited on our data page. Their licenses apply to that data. Our own written content, design, and page structure are not covered by those licenses.
Links out
Other sites and affiliate links
Par 5 links to course websites, booking services, and other third parties. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what they do, charge, or publish. Some of those links are affiliate links, explained in full on our affiliate disclosure page.
Limits
No warranty, limited liability
Par 5 is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or the app, including a wasted trip to a course that was closed, a booking that went wrong on a third party's site, or a detail on a page that turned out to be wrong.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
