Linville Golf Club is in Linville, Avery County, at the foot of Grandfather Mountain in the NC High Country. Linville is one of the earliest planned resort communities in the southern Appalachians, developed in the 1890s near Grandfather Mountain. The club's golf course is among the oldest in North Carolina, occupying terrain in the upper Avery County valley at high elevation.
