Williston was transformed from a quiet agricultural and trade city of 12,000 to an oil boom town exceeding 30,000 at peak development, with housing shortages, infrastructure strain, and the social disruption that accompanies rapid population growth. Eagle Ridge serves the established Williston community and the newer population that the oil economy brought to the far northwestern corner of North Dakota near the Montana border.
