Burden Lake Country Club

Burden Lake Country Club is in Averill Park, Rensselaer County, in the lake country of eastern Rensselaer County east of Troy. The club serves the Sand Lake area community in the elevated terrain above the Hudson Valley, in a zone of glacial lakes and forested hills. The Sand Lake area east of Troy rises from the Hudson River valley into the upland terrain toward the Taconic Mountains at the Massachusetts border. Burden Lake is one of several glacial lakes in this part of Rensselaer County, giving the community and the club a lakeshore setting in the Capital Region's eastern hills.
