Golf in Haines

Haines is a Haines Borough community in Southeast Alaska's Lynn Canal corridor, a small city connected to the Alaska Highway system—unlike most communities in the panhandle—by road through the Yukon. The community is known for the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, where one of the world's largest concentrations of bald eagles gathers each autumn to feed on late-running salmon in the Chilkat River. Valley of the Eagles Golf Links takes its name from this ecological phenomenon, and the course's position in the river valley flanked by glacier-carved mountains creates a setting that reflects the dramatic natural character of the Southeast Alaska coastal landscape.
