Golf in Phenix City

Phenix City is a Lee County city on the Chattahoochee River directly across from Columbus, Georgia, a community whose history includes a period in the early 1950s when it was known as one of the most corrupt and crime-ridden cities in the United States before a national guard intervention and subsequent reform transformed the city. Today Phenix City is integrated into the Columbus, Georgia metropolitan area in an essentially seamless bi-state metropolitan community where the river boundary matters less than the practical realities of work, shopping, and recreation across both banks.
