Golf in Wetumpka

Wetumpka is the county seat of Elmore County on the Coosa River north of Montgomery, a city whose name in the Creek language means 'rumbling waters,' referencing the falls of the Coosa River that mark the geological transition from the Alabama piedmont to the coastal plain. The city is notable as the site of the Wetumpka Impact Crater, one of the most significant geological features in the southeastern United States—a 5-mile-wide structure created by a meteor impact some 80 million years ago. Quail Walk Golf Course serves the growing Elmore County community in the natural landscape north of the state capital.
