Golf in Orchard Mesa

Orchard Mesa is an unincorporated Mesa County community south of Grand Junction in the agricultural mesa lands of the Grand Valley, part of the Grand Junction metropolitan area's southern growth corridor where fruit orchards and vineyard operations have given way to residential development. Chipeta Golf Club provides Orchard Mesa with daily-fee golf access in the Western Slope's largest metropolitan market, complementing the more prominent Redlands Mesa and Tiara Rado facilities. The mesa's fruit orchard tradition—once the source of the 'Palisade peach' fame that extended up the Grand Valley—gives the area an agricultural heritage that persists in the landscape even as residential development has replaced many of the orchards.
