Geneva is Kane County's governmental seat and one of the Fox River valley's most desirable communities, known for Third Street's boutique shopping district, the Kane County Courthouse historic district, and a riverside setting where Victorian architecture meets restored natural riverbanks. Four golf facilities serve the Geneva area — Geneva Golf Club, Mill Creek Golf Club, Settler's Hill, and Eaglebrook Country Club — representing a range from forest preserve recreational access to private club tradition.
