Golf in Fort Leavenworth

Fort Leavenworth, the historic Army installation on the Missouri River bluffs north of Leavenworth, is the oldest continuously operated US Army post west of the Mississippi River — established in 1827 to protect the Santa Fe and Oregon Trail routes. Today it serves as the home of the Army's Command and General Staff College, training officers from across the American military and from allied nations. Trails West Golf Course serves the post's military and civilian community with an 18-hole layout set in the wooded, bluff-top terrain that makes this corner of northeast Kansas visually distinctive from the open plains of the state's interior.
