Golf in Choudrant

Lincoln Parish sits in north-central Louisiana's piney hills, where the soil rises and drains freely compared to the bottomlands that dominate the state's lower half. Choudrant is a small community in the parish, best known in Louisiana golf circles for Squire Creek Country Club, a private facility set in the upland forest. The surrounding landscape is genuinely wooded — longleaf and loblolly pine, hardwood creek bottoms — and the course takes advantage of terrain that designers working in the flat south cannot access.
