Golf in Leonardtown

Leonardtown is the seat of St. Mary's County on Breton Bay, a tidal arm of the Potomac in Maryland's most historically significant peninsula. St. Mary's City, a few miles south, was Maryland's colonial capital from 1634 to 1695, and the county retains a deep sense of its role in American history. Breton Bay Golf Course serves a county seat community that functions as the administrative and commercial center for a largely rural peninsula whose economy mixes government employment from Patuxent River Naval Air Station with farming, fishing, and a growing tourism sector.
