Golf in Rockville

Rockville is the seat of Montgomery County and one of the Washington area's most significant suburban cities, home to county government, the National Institutes of Health, and a dense concentration of biomedical and technology employers along the I-270 corridor. Two private clubs serve Rockville's established residential golf market: Lakewood Country Club and Woodmont Country Club. Woodmont carries particular historical significance—the club hosted Bobby Jones's last competitive golf round, and its membership roster over more than a century has included major figures in Washington's legal, political, and business communities. Rockville's combination of governmental importance, research-institution presence, and affluent residential base makes it one of Montgomery County's most active recreational golf markets.
