Greensboro is the county seat of Guilford County and the largest city in the Triad, in the central NC Piedmont. The city is at the junction of I-40 and I-85 and serves as a major distribution and commercial hub in the central Piedmont, with a large and historically significant African American community. Four historically Black colleges and universities are located in the Greensboro area — NC A&T, Bennett College, Guilford College, and Elon University nearby — and the Woolworth's lunch counter at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum is the site of a pivotal 1960 sit-in that helped launch the modern civil rights movement. Greensboro's golf community includes the Sedgefield Country Club, which hosts the annual Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour.
