Golf in Lake Lure

Lake Lure is a resort town in Rutherford County, in the NC Piedmont foothills at the edge of the Blue Ridge. The town is on the shores of Lake Lure, a reservoir created by a dam on the Rocky Broad River in Hickory Nut Gorge, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and mountain scenery. The area gained widespread recognition as the filming location for the final scenes of Dirty Dancing. Lake Lure's gorge and lake setting make it one of the most scenically distinctive resort communities in the NC foothills, between Asheville and the Piedmont.
