Golf in Nebraska City

Nebraska City in Otoe County sits on the Missouri River bluffs in southeastern Nebraska, a city of roughly 7,000 with the significant distinction of being the birthplace of Arbor Day. Julius Sterling Morton, a Nebraska City resident and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, proposed the first Arbor Day in 1872, and the state still celebrates it each April. Arbor Day Farm — the Morton family estate — is the community's signature attraction. Two golf courses serve the city: The Golf Club at Table Creek, occupying elevated terrain above the river, and Wildwood Golf Course, both benefiting from the wooded, hilly character that distinguishes this corner of the state.
