Golf in Fort Shawnee

Fort Shawnee is an Allen County community immediately south of Lima, where the historic significance of the Shawnee nation's presence throughout western Ohio is preserved in the community's name. The Shawnee's territory extended broadly across the Ohio interior, and their removal westward in the early nineteenth century opened the land that became Lima and its surrounding communities. Today Fort Shawnee functions as a residential suburb of Lima with its own municipal character, serving the population that lives along the Route 309 corridor south of the county seat.
