Golf in New Concord

New Concord is a Muskingum County village with a specific and distinguished place in American history as the hometown of John Glenn—astronaut, senator, and the first American to orbit the Earth. Glenn's 1962 flight aboard Friendship 7 made him a national hero, and his subsequent career as a United States Senator brought New Concord continued recognition beyond its modest size.
