Golf in Heppner

Heppner is the seat of Morrow County in northeast Oregon, a small community in the Willow Creek valley surrounded by wheat country and the rolling uplands of the Columbia Plateau. The 1903 Heppner Flood, one of Oregon's most devastating natural disasters, defined the community's history, and the rebuilt town maintains the civic infrastructure of a genuine county seat despite its small size. Morrow County is thinly populated and largely agricultural, with golf here serving a community spread across a wide geographic area. The surrounding landscape of wheat fields, basalt rimrock, and the Blue Mountains on the distant horizon characterizes this corner of eastern Oregon.
