Golf in Andalusia

Andalusia occupies a stretch of Bucks County along the Delaware River in Bensalem Township, where the river's western bank holds some of the oldest continuously occupied estates in the Philadelphia region. The Andalusia estate itself — the Nicholas Biddle house, built in Greek Revival style in the 1790s — gave the community its name and established the area's character as a setting for Philadelphia's merchant and banking elite. Bucks County's lower tier transitions between that historical grandeur and the dense residential development that has defined Bensalem and Bristol townships since the postwar suburban expansion.
