Rumford is a neighborhood in East Providence that functions almost as a self-contained community, with its own commercial district and a strong residential identity centered on Colonial and Victorian-era housing. The neighborhood is most widely known among golf enthusiasts as the home of Wannamoisett Country Club, one of Donald Ross's most celebrated course designs.
