Mount Pleasant is a city in Charleston County, the primary eastern suburb of the city of Charleston on the far side of the Cooper River, connected to the Charleston peninsula by the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Mount Pleasant is one of the fastest-growing cities in South Carolina and the most populous suburb in the greater Charleston metropolitan area, extending from the I-526 perimeter north and east along the Wando River corridor and US 17. The city's five golf courses serve a large and growing residential population in the most active suburban growth zone of the Charleston metro.
