Golf in Lakeland

Lakeland is a Shelby County municipality in the northeastern Memphis suburbs, one of the newer and most rapidly growing incorporated communities in the county. The city established itself as a separate municipality in 1999 and has since attracted substantial residential development along the Interstate 40 corridor east of Bartlett. Lakeland's demographics reflect the broader pattern of Shelby County's northeastern suburbs: higher household incomes, newer residential construction, and a strong preference for quality schools and lower density compared to the older Memphis suburbs. The city's golf facilities serve a population that is both growing and affluent, in the outer ring of a metropolitan area where northeastern Shelby County represents a primary direction of upper-income growth.
