Golf in Troy

Troy is the seat of Obion County in northwestern Tennessee, a small city in the flat agricultural terrain of the Mississippi River lowlands north of Union City. Obion County's economy is built on agriculture and light manufacturing, and Troy's role as county seat gives it a modest commercial function serving a dispersed rural population across the county's flat bottomland terrain. The landscape here is the West Tennessee alluvial plain at its most characteristic — level, productive, and defined by the drainage patterns of the Obion River system. Reelfoot Lake, just to the north in Lake County, was created by the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-1812 and is one of the most ecologically significant and visually unusual lakes in the mid-South. Golf in Troy serves the local community at the scale of a small rural county seat.
