Golf in Fairwood

Fairwood refers to two distinct Washington communities sharing the same name: the King County Fairwood southeast of Renton, a suburban community in the Cascade foothills east of the main Seattle suburban belt; and the Spokane County Fairwood north of Spokane, a residential community in the ponderosa pine landscape of the Spokane Plateau. The King County Fairwood's suburban character in the South King County corridor and the Spokane County Fairwood's position in the north Spokane residential landscape create two quite different community settings that happen to share a name. Golf serves both communities in their respective Pacific Northwest landscapes. Washington's extraordinary geographic diversity — the rain-soaked western slopes, the Puget Sound waterways, the Cascade Range's volcanic peaks, and the sun-baked eastern plateau — creates community characters as varied as the landscape, and local golf reflects each region's specific natural and economic identity.
