Golf in Green Lake

Green Lake is a small city in Green Lake County, set beside the deep, clear lake of the same name in east-central Wisconsin. Often called the oldest resort community west of Niagara Falls, the city has drawn vacationers since the nineteenth century to its lakefront, and it is home to the historic Golf Courses of Lawsonia, long regarded among the finest in the state. Green Lake itself is the deepest natural inland lake in Wisconsin, lending the area a distinctive character. The surrounding landscape blends the lake with the farm country of central Wisconsin. Golfers know Green Lake above all for Lawsonia, but recreational courses fill the surrounding county as well. With Berlin nearby and the Fox Valley within reach, Green Lake offers a base for golf in one of the most historic resort and golf destinations in east-central Wisconsin, where the deep lake defines the setting.
