Golf in Diamondville

Diamondville is a small community in Lincoln County adjacent to Kemmerer, the southwestern Wyoming city best known as the site of J.C. Penney's first store, opened in 1902. The Kemmerer-Diamondville area is part of the western Wyoming energy complex, with coal and trona mining operations sustaining the local economy. Fossil Butte National Monument, a few miles to the west, preserves remarkable Eocene-era fish fossils in one of the most scientifically significant paleontological sites in North America. The remote, sagebrush-covered landscape of Lincoln County creates a stark backdrop for communities that have relied on mineral extraction for over a century.
