Black Lake Golf Course is one of Michigan's most acclaimed championship layouts, a Tom Weiskopf design opened in 2001 on the shores of Black Lake in northern Cheboygan County. The course is owned and operated by the UAW as part of the union's Black Lake Conference Center, making it accessible primarily to UAW members and their guests. Black Lake itself is a large, clean inland lake prized for muskie and walleye fishing, and the golf course was designed to complement rather than overwhelm its natural setting—routing play through significant terrain changes while preserving the wooded corridors that frame the lake. The course is widely considered among the finest public-access championship designs in the Lower Peninsula.
