Angel Fire Country Club operates at the heart of the Angel Fire resort community in Taos County, a private club serving a ski-and-golf destination built around the dramatic Moreno Valley at roughly 8,400 feet. The thin air at this elevation produces some of the most extreme carry-distance advantages in golf — the ball simply travels farther when there are fewer air molecules to resist it. Sangre de Cristo ridgelines frame the valley on multiple sides, and the summer golf season here is compressed but pleasant, with afternoon thunderstorms a predictable feature of the monsoon pattern that arrives in late July.
