Lake Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course

Lake Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course sits along the Pecos River in Carlsbad, where the city's park system has long centered on the river corridor. Carlsbad Caverns National Park lies roughly 25 miles to the southwest — a world-class natural attraction that drives tourism to a city whose economy otherwise runs on potash mining and petroleum extraction. The municipal course provides recreational golf in Eddy County at around 3,100 feet elevation, conditions warmer and more exposed than the Sacramento Mountains to the northwest.
