Golf in Galt

Galt is a city in San Joaquin County in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley, between Sacramento and Stockton on State Route 99. The city occupies flat valley terrain at the transition between the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley floors. San Joaquin County's northern communities, including Galt, are in a zone where the Delta's agricultural landscape gives way to more suburban development associated with the Sacramento corridor. The city has grown in recent decades as residential development has spread southward from Sacramento, making Galt partly a bedroom community for workers commuting north. State Route 99 provides direct highway access north to Sacramento and south to Stockton. The city has a small downtown and has expanded with newer residential development on its edges as the Sacramento-to-Stockton corridor has grown.
