Golf in Eads

Eads is the Kiowa County seat in the extreme southeastern Colorado high plains, a small agricultural town whose character is defined by the vast shortgrass prairie surrounding it, the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site nearby, and the ranching and dryland farming economy that has sustained the county through drought, dust bowl, and depopulation cycles. Eads Golf and Country Club provides the community with recreational golf access in one of Colorado's most isolated county seats. The Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site—one of Colorado's most important and sobering historical landmarks—adds a dimension of historical gravity to a county seat that otherwise is defined almost entirely by its agricultural character and geographic isolation.
