Golf in Nokomis

Nokomis is a community in Sarasota County at the southern end of the county, south of Sarasota and north of Venice. Two courses serve the area — Calusa Lakes Golf Club and Mission Valley Golf & Country Club — in the southern Sarasota Gulf Coast corridor where the year-round residential and retirement population sustains the local market. No hole-count data is in public records for either course. Nokomis sits at the southern end of the county near the Charlotte County line, in a part of Sarasota County where the residential character is shaped more by the retirement and permanent population than by the resort infrastructure that defines the communities further north along the Gulf Coast.
