Golf in Sumterville

Sumterville is a small community in Sumter County in the central Florida interior, in the same county that hosts the southern portions of The Villages at its boundary. Shady Brook serves this community in a rural part of the county removed from The Villages development. No hole-count data is in public records for the course. Sumter County was one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States over the period from 2000 to 2020, driven almost entirely by The Villages expansion, but the rural portions of the county outside the retirement community retain a more agricultural and low-density character. Sumterville represents the quieter, non-resort side of a county that has been transformed by planned retirement development.
