Golf in Wildwood

Wildwood is a small city in Sumter County near the US-301 corridor, at the southwestern edge of the broader area served by The Villages retirement community. Three courses — Beautyberry Golf Course, Honeysuckle Golf Course, and Timberland Golf Course — serve this community in the Sumter County golf market, in a part of the county where The Villages development has created concentrated golf activity in the surrounding residential zone. No hole-count data is in public records for any of these three courses. Wildwood serves the permanent residential population of the southwestern Sumter County corridor, in an area where the rural and agricultural character of the pre-development landscape has been substantially altered by the growth of The Villages.
