Oldest golf courses on record in Georgia

The oldest golf course on record in Georgia is Glen Arven Country Club in Thomasville, which first opened for play in 1892, a year verified against the operator's own site and press coverage. The strongest competing claim on record is Savannah Golf Club, but no source dates its opening before 1899, later than 1892, so it does not lead this list. The 50 oldest golf courses in Georgia by recorded founding year, from Glen Arven Country Club in Thomasville in 1892 to 1964. They are drawn from the 175 Georgia courses with a recorded founding year, 67% of the 262 listed here; the median founding year across that group is 1979. The rest carry no recorded year, so an older course may not appear on this list.
