Golf in Emmett

Emmett is the seat of Gem County, positioned along the Payette River northwest of Boise in a valley known for its fruit orchards—particularly cherries—that thrive in the river corridor's protected microclimate. The Payette River Canyon above Emmett offers excellent whitewater kayaking and fishing, while the valley floor's mild temperatures and irrigation access support productive agriculture distinct from the more arid Treasure Valley floor to the south. Emmett has maintained a small-town character even as Boise's growth has expanded toward its county borders, making it one of the remaining places in the Treasure Valley region where a genuinely rural pace persists alongside easy access to metropolitan amenities.
