Golf in Kinder

Allen Parish sits in southwest Louisiana's piney hills and prairie transition zone, a region that combines timber, agriculture, and — increasingly — tribal gaming. The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana operates a major resort complex in Kinder, and Koasati Pines Golf Club is part of that resort infrastructure. The name honors the Koasati (Coushatta) people with their own spelling of the tribal name, situating the course within the tribe's cultural enterprise rather than as a generic amenity. The resort draws visitors from across the Gulf South, and the golf course serves that regional audience as well as local residents. The surrounding pine upland gives the course a wooded character that distinguishes it from the flat delta courses further south.
