Golf in Haverhill

Haverhill is an Essex County city in the Merrimack River valley near the New Hampshire border, a post-industrial mill city that anchored the shoe manufacturing industry of northeastern Massachusetts for generations. Five clubs serve the Haverhill area — Bradford Country Club, Crystal Lake Golf Club, Garrison Par 3 Golf Center, Northfields Golf Course, and Renaissance Golf Club — one of the larger golf concentrations in the North Shore region outside the Route 128 ring. The Merrimack River defines the city's northern edge, and the hilly terrain of both river banks gives golf in Haverhill a more varied topography than the coastal Essex County communities to the south.
