Maynard is a Middlesex County town in the Assabet River valley between Stow and Sudbury, a former industrial community known for Digital Equipment Corporation's campus in the old Assabet Mill complex that now houses a range of technology tenants. Stow Acres Country Club serves the Maynard market from adjacent Stow terrain, in a community where the Assabet River's wooded corridor, the moderate upland above the river, and the Metro West suburban growth give golf a river-valley setting in a post-industrial community. The Assabet's restoration and the mill campus's adaptation have given Maynard a renewed identity in the inner Metro West corridor.
