Golf in Olney

Olney is a Montgomery County community in the Georgia Avenue corridor north of Silver Spring, developed primarily in the 1970s and 1980s as a planned residential community at the northern edge of the county's dense suburban fabric. Norbeck Country Club and Olney Golf Park both serve this established residential area, providing private and recreational golf options for a community that has matured from new-suburb status into a fully established neighborhood with its own commercial and cultural identity. The Patuxent River's upper tributaries run through Olney, and the stream valleys contribute natural open space to a community whose suburban density would otherwise crowd out natural features entirely.
