Golf in Belgrade

Belgrade occupies the heart of Maine's Lakes Region, where the Belgrade chain — Great Pond, Middle Pond, Long Pond, Messalonskee, and their smaller neighbors — draws summer visitors from across New England. The lakes have been the town's defining asset since at least the 19th century, when families began arriving from Portland and Boston to spend summers on the water. Fishing, boating, paddling, and lake-swimming anchor the summer economy, and the Belgrade area has maintained a quieter, less commercialized character than many Maine resort communities.
