Golf in Millinocket

Millinocket is a North Woods community in Penobscot County built in 1900 by Great Northern Paper as a planned mill town to house workers at what became one of the world's largest paper operations. The town's identity has been inseparable from the mill and the surrounding wilderness since its founding, and the mill's decline has been the defining challenge of recent decades. Baxter State Park and Mount Katahdin begin just north of town, and the Penobscot River's West Branch drains spectacular wild country in all directions.
