Golf in Scarborough

Scarborough is one of Maine's most geographically diverse communities, stretching from the Atlantic shore — including Scarborough Marsh, the largest salt marsh in Maine and a critical coastal wildlife habitat — to the inland forests and farm fields at Portland's southern suburban edge. The town is among the fastest-growing in the state, with Prouts Neck's artistic heritage, the Pine Point fishing community, and the suburban Route 1 corridor all coexisting within its borders. Two golf facilities occupy the inland portions: Willowdale Golf Club's 18-hole layout and Nonesuch River Golf Club, together serving the expanding residential population that has made Scarborough a significant growth community in Greater Portland.
