Golf in Augusta

Augusta is a Kalamazoo County community associated with the historic Gull Lake area resort district, where the chain of lakes that defines this part of southwest Michigan has attracted resort development, private residential communities, and the golf infrastructure that the region's consistent affluent visitor population supports. The Gull Lake area's resort tradition goes back to the nineteenth century, and Augusta and the surrounding Kalamazoo County lake communities have developed a golf culture that includes some of the state's more historically significant and scenic courses in the rolling terrain between the lakes. The Battle Creek and Kalamazoo metropolitan markets provide the primary base for the Gull Lake area's recreational economy.
