Brimley is a small Chippewa County community on Whitefish Bay in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, occupying the flat sandstone and clay terrain of the eastern UP shore between Sault Ste. Marie and the Mackinac County line. Bay Mills Township, in which Brimley sits, is home to the Bay Mills Indian Community, a federally recognized tribe of Ojibwe who have operated casino gaming since 1984 as one of the first tribal gaming operations in the United States. Golf in the Brimley area serves the year-round UP residents and the seasonal visitors who come to the Whitefish Bay area for fishing and the outdoor recreation of the eastern Upper Peninsula's distinctive sandstone and wetland landscape.
